Xuan Yong

Xuan, co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer, has been Chairman of Board since 2022. He co-founded the company in 2014 with a vision of building a comprehensive procurement platform for the energy sector. He soon saw the industry’s pressing labor fragmentation problem, and as CEO he guided the company — then called RigUp — to become the leading skilled labor procurement platform for energy.

Xuan navigated through strong macroeconomic and geopolitical headwinds, including the global pandemic. He oversaw a restructuring and refocusing of the business that put Workrise on a path to profitability and set it up for its next phase of growth as the supply-to-pay solution for the energy industry. Workrise currently partners with more than 300 energy operators in the US, from independents to supermajors, and recently launched its Workrise Vendor Management platform, a blend of software and services that optimizes and automates the entire source-to-pay process.

Xuan’s career has combined two of his biggest areas of passion and expertise: finance and energy. Prior to Workrise, he was an energy investor at various hedge funds, including Citadel and D.E. Shaw. He began his career as an investment banking analyst at Goldman Sachs.

Xuan, a proud Texas A&M alum, supports a number of philanthropies, including the Texas MS 150 charity cycle, Austin local public television, youth scholarship funds across the state of Texas, and the Dell Children’s Medical Center Foundation. He lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife and children.
